Brittiläinen, Ranskalainen ja Venäläinen katselivat maalausta Aatamista ja Eevasta ilakoimassa Edenin puutarhassa.
- Katsokaa heidän varauksellisuuttaan, heidän tyyneyttään, mietti Brittiläinen. Heidän täytyy olla Brittiläisiä.
- Pötyä, väitti Ranskalainen. - He ovat alastomia ja niin kauniita. Selvästi he ovat Ranskalaisia.
- Ei vaatteita, ei suojaa, Venäläinen huomautti, - Heillä on vain omena syötäväksi ja heille on kerrottu, että tämä on paratiisi. He ovat Venäläisiä.

- Venäläisen keittokirjan kääntämisessä on ongelmia, tulkki sanoo työtoverilleen. Esimerkiksi tämä stroganoff-ohjeen ensimmäinen lause.
- Mikä siinä on vaikeaa?
- Miten käännetään suomeksi: Varasta torilta puoli kiloa pihvilihaa...?
